Jersey Canada reluctantly accepts the resignation of Mark Anderson, Director for the Atlantic Region. Mark has represented the Atlantic Region on the Jersey Canada Board of Directors since 2011. He has served on the Strategic Planning and Marketing & Publications Committees, and has also held a seat on the Executive and Operations Committee since 2014. Mark and his wife Marjorie were instrumental in hosting the 2017 Annual General Meeting in Saint John, New Brunswick, the first AGM to be held in Atlantic Canada in 25 years.
The Jersey Canada Board of Directors extends their sincere thanks and appreciation to Mark for his dedication to our association, and we wish him all the best in his future endeavours.
As a result, there is currently a vacancy on the Jersey Canada Board of Directors for the Atlantic Region seat. Jersey Canada members in good standing that are interested in running for this seat are asked to forward a completed nomination form to the Jersey Canada office by Wednesday, May 31, 2017. This call for nominations is to fill the remaining two years for the seat vacated by Mark Anderson. This two-year term will begin on June 1, 2017 or August 1, 2017, depending on whether or not an election is called.
To be eligible to become and remain a Director, the nominee must be a member in good standing of Jersey Canada, residing in the district for which he/she is to be elected, and be the registered owner of at least ten (10) living females, registered in the Canadian Jersey Cattle Register. Nomination for the office of Director must be made in writing, to be received at the office of the Association by the Wednesday, May 31, 2017. To be valid, a nomination must be signed by five (5) members in good standing, not including the nominee, all residing in the electoral district, and the nominee must, by his/her signature, show willingness to act in the best interest of the corporation.
Nomination forms are available from the national office. If, on June 1, 2017, there is only one valid nomination in the electoral district, the nominee shall be declared elected.Back
