Kathryn Roxburgh (ext 102) | kathryn@jerseycanada.com
General Manager 

Kathryn is the link from our members to the Jersey Canada Board of Directors. As the captain of our ship, she maintains an exceptional focus on excellent customer service, breed promotion, market development and keeping staff happy. Kathryn has the exciting job of looking after our policy development, financial management, anything project related, and is our point person within the dairy industry. She is the Vice-President, North America for the World Jersey Cattle Bureau (WJCB) Council and the Chair of the WJCB Membership & Promotions Committee. Kathryn grew up on a Jersey farm in southwestern Ontario. She has a Bachelor of Science degree from Wilfrid Laurier University where she specialized in Biology and Chemistry, and prior to the helm at Jersey Canada, she worked in the AI industry in Alberta. Kathryn’s true analytical side enjoys data and finds the most satisfaction in making things more efficient, but she also loves the outdoors, camping and anything chocolate.

Office Administrator/Secretary-Treasurer

Phyllis has over 16 years of experience at Jersey Canada and has a deep connection to our members and the industry in general. She is a work horse and takes care of membership, bookkeeping, finances, staff, office activity, and correspondence. Phyllis is a dynamic and innovative planner and makes sure people are on base and in position for events and meetings. As a seasoned customer service professional, Phyllis understands the needs of our members, she loves to meet new people, and can answer all of your questions regarding just about anything. Phyllis is also from the farm and with her high energy she is an avid curler, golfer and can still swing the bat like the best of them.

Registrar & Bilingual Customer Service Agent

When it comes to registrations, transfers, DNA and pedigrees, Ruth is your bilingual contact. Under the Canadian Animal Pedigree Act, Ruth understands the importance of accurate record keeping and works through details and challenges that support the integrity of the herd book and regulatory process. As our ‘front-man’ of the association and a customer service guru, Ruth can also deliver certificates, genomic records, pedigrees, Star Brood and production awards, and provide you with support for all registration and transfer inquiries. When Ruth isn’t processing registrations, she plays hockey and is a fierce hiker.

Communications Specialist

Shawna was born to multi-task and is the communications and marketing arm of Jersey Canada. From tweets to editorial (and everything in between), she works to support Jersey Canada services and promote the breed through print and digital collateral. Shawna produces the ever-popular Canadian Jersey Breeder, manages the website, and delivers all communication via eNews and social media. You can also find her at Jersey shows and events with a camera in hand. Shawna is not just a brand builder for the association, but also for Jersey farms, working with each client to create outstanding AD designs. Shawna is enthusiastic about art and design, is a connoisseur of green tea and fine red wine, and believes that a strong mind/body provides her with the fast moving creative energy that she needs to keep up with changing communication styles.

National Fieldman

Jean Marc is our bilingual National Fieldman, and is often referred to as our Extension Agent. He is our Jersey expert and visits farms across Canada helping breeders with registrations, transfers, embryo sourcing, milk recording, testing, classification, mating advice, bloodlines, and general herd management. Jean Marc is also available to talk about Jersey Canada, how producers can save money, and all of the benefits and resources available to Jersey breeders. He also participates in Jersey shows, sales, events and youth education programs. If you are looking for good quality breeding stock, Jean Marc is your man - he can facilitate these connections. Jean Marc loves to talk about cows in a practical manner and he enjoys spending time with his family.
