Jersey Canada announces 2009 Purina All Canadians
Judging has been completed in the 2009 Purina All Canadian Contest. This contest is generously sponsored by Agri-Brands Purina and Barney Printing.
A sub-committee of five All Canadian judges convened at the Jersey Canada office last December to select the six nominees in each class based on a combination of show placings in 2009 and quality of photo.
Subsequently, thirteen All Canadian judges were asked to place each class, provided that they did not own or had bred an animal in a particular class. These judges included (with the All Canadian show they judged in brackets):

The Champion All Canadian Cow for 2009 is Vandenberg Amedeo Gorgeous, bred by Mitch and Yolanda Vandenberg of Reaboro, ON and owned by Rapid Bay Jerseys of Ormstown, Quebec. "Gorgeous" was the Grand Champion Jersey and Supreme Champion at the 2009 Royal Winter Fair.
The Champion All Canadian Heifer for 2009 is Maple Ridge Connection Shawna, bred by Pete and Michelle Stern of Drumbo, ON and owned by Ferme Élégance, Pierre Boulet, Marlin Palich and Chris McCaig of St-Gervais, QC. "Shawna" was the Junior Champion Heifer at the 2009 Royal Winter Fair and was Honourable Mention Junior Champion at the 2009 World Dairy Expo in Madison, Wisconsin.
